Opening Doors

We are a user-led organisation run by and for people with learning disabilities. We run groups and training sessions so that people with learning disabilities have the skills, knowledge and confidence to make their own decisions and run their own lives with support from people they trust.

We run free-to-access self-advocacy groups in Diss, Cromer, Norwich and Great Yarmouth. These are all available to attend via zoom as well. People can also opt to receive a monthly accessible newsletter.

We also provide information, advice and advocacy as part of a contract with Norfolk County Council. We support people with learning disabilities around issues relating to welfare benefits, housing, health and social care as well as supporting people to report and challenge discrimination. Support is offered by trained Advocacy Advisers who can work with people face-to-face as well as via phone/videocall.

We currently have a project worker specifically employed to assist people with returning towards their pre-covid lives who can support people to take small steps to rebuild their confidence and skills.

We run free-to-access self-advocacy groups in Diss, Cromer, Norwich and Great Yarmouth. These are all available to attend via zoom as well.
