Norfolk Community Law Service – Debt Team

SERVICE OFFER:
We offer free, confidential, and independent debt advice to people in Norfolk who are struggling to pay the money that they owe. Whether you have a one-off query, require someone to contact your creditors or need to consider your options, we can help. Our advisers are approved Debt Relief Order Intermediaries.

REFFERAL CRITERIA:
Please note that we cannot provide general money advice, general budgeting advice or advice on fraud. For services which provide general money advice please check the listings section of the NCAN website, but Age UK, Norfolk County Council’s Client Hardship Service or Citizen’s Advice may be able to help. Fraud cases should be reported to the police, either directly or via Action Fraud.

If you have already completed a Standard Financial Statement with the client, it is very helpful if you can provide this with your referral. It is also very helpful if you can let us know about any vulnerabilities or adjustments the client may require, and to check that the client’s contact details are correct and up to date. Most of our advice is given via telephone, however face-to-face appointments at our office can be arranged where necessary.

Stroke Association

SERVICE OFFER:

Our Stroke Recovery Service is here for stroke survivors, their families and carers to ensure they have the support they need to rebuild their lives post-stroke and into the longer-term. The impact of stroke can last a lifetime, affecting a person’s physical health, emotional wellbeing, family and finances.

The Stroke Recovery Service makes sure that people affected by stroke have their needs placed at the centre of their recovery journey. Working in collaboration with others across the stroke pathway and within the wider community, we help ensure people have an integrated and seamless experience of care and that they receive the support they need, when and where they need it.

Upon referral to the service, we work alongside stroke survivors, their families and carers to develop and deliver a personalised stroke support plan. This is based on what they tell us is important to them, including secondary prevention, emotional needs, and their goals.

In addition we support stroke survivors and carers affected by aphasia (speech and language difficulties)

The service also provides high quality personalised information and tools for individuals to support recovery and life after stroke.

REFERRAL CRITERIA:

The service will receive referrals for all those affected by stroke who are registered with either a Norfolk or Waveney GP and over the age of 18.
